You Can't Get Good Unless You Get Started

I started out years ago shooting headshots.

Where I really started is by shooting thousands and thousands of pictures of this mannequin head before I scheduled my first session with a real person.

That first session with a real person was a great session where I produced excellent images because I had developed skill that comes with repetition and experience.

Notice that I haven’t used the words “perfect” or “perfection” here. Those words are the primary ingredients in a recipe that yields nothing.

You will never deliver anything to the world by insisting on perfection before delivery.

So all of you out here waiting until you can make a perfect video before you start making videos, just know that five years from now, you’ll still be waiting.

Meanwhile, the world will work with someone in your industry who puts out excellent videos because that person chose to get started and keep making improvements along the way.
